The life of Franz Josef Reinl

1903 – 1919

Baden near Vienna and Floridsdorf
First encounter with music in his parents´house (music played by amateures in the family circle)
First violine lessons (music school Geyer, piano private)

1919 – 1926

Viennese Music academy
composition (F. Schmidt), conducting (C.Kraus)

1923 – 1938

Activities as free-lance artist
His plans: Theatre band-leader, respectively conductor
The reality: cinema piano player, organist, viola player, choir leader, employee, leader of the Blue-Star-Band

1938 – 1943

He works as an employee, music teacher at grammar schools for boys in Floridsdorf.

1943 – 1945

Marriage and military service
Marriage with the pharmacist Hilde Ertl (nee Mantler).
Shortly after the marriage he was called in to serve in the army in and around Graz

1945 – 1952

New start in Salzburg
Conductor of light music, composition orders from German broadcasting companies, cabaret musician

1952 – 1977

Germany as his second home country
Stuttgart, Waldenbuch and Trippstadt
Several orders: radio-music, stage-music

In 1999 the book: “Franz Reinl – composer between the times” by Margareta Saary was published by the book publisher Karl Schwarzer
